Thanking our loyal customers!

Fleet Line Markers would like to take this opportunity to thank our loyal customers for their patience over the last few months.

It has been an incredibly hard time, due to huge demand and setting new infrastructure up to meet it.

Since the Ki launch in May and Kombi update in September we have employed more staff and purchased warehouse space to accommodate the need for these products.

Our competitors have managed to acquire a Ki, and we hear are extremely impressed!!

And we were surprised when an old Fleet distributor Rigby Taylor sold a BeamRider, well done them!

Our in-house production team is working hard to reduce lead times and hopes to regain stock levels by the end of the year.

Again we thank you and look forward to introducing yet more products set for release in 2015.

Fleet Support Tour of Britain Cycle Race

The Tour of Britain Cycle Race recently rode through Malvern in Worcestershire where Fleet are based. Malvern Town Council invited Fleet to paint a giant "King of the Mountains" winners jersey on Lower Howsell Playing Fields. The Tour was passing by on Wednesday 10th September. The jersey was 21 metres wide at the bottom and 37 metres top to bottom and about 30 metres from sleeve to sleeve.

The shape of the shirt was "mapped" with the BeamRider (4 corners of the rectangle), using the  90 degree laser. The wavy lines WERE deliberate to give it a more realistic look! Green Reddispray was used for the polka dots with Q2 being used for the white and Colour XS for the red flashing. The Fleet logo was 6m x 4m and the web address under the Fleet logo was done free hand.

1 Month 3 Exhibitions and still going strong.

September was a busy month for sales but also for exhibitions.
The month started off with SALTEX at Windsor Racecourse. As always, Fleet had one of the busiest  and largest stands at the show. Centre stage was the Ki and Kombi 3 both of which caused a lot of interest at all levels of groundsmanship.

The next exhibition was indoors in Germany. This was a 4 day show that again was extremely busy and attracted visitors from all over the World.

The final show was in France and was outdoors. With over 450 exhibitors, this was again a very busy 3 days with Ki and Kombi being demonstrated as well as the BeamRider. The Fleet logo was painted on the grass but instead of the usual blue and white, it was painted in blue, white and red, the colours of the French Flag. This created a massive amount of interest and impressed many! As well as the French Flag bringing a smile to the Fench faces, Iain "painted" a smiley face using on the gravel using the Ki and water".

Day as a Groundsman

It was Saturday the 30th of August, Rochdale AFC v Bradford City at Spotland. 3pm kick off.

Phil Collinson (Senior Sales Manager North) was asked by Head Groundsman Oliver Makin to help out.
Phil explains what his tasks for the day were and how great it was to lend a hand with his former collegues.

“I arrived at 10am to find to pitch in splendid condition having been cut earlier in the day by Oli and his assistant Drew Duffy. Ture to English form....it was raining! Having spent almost 10 years at Rochdale I think I can count on one hand the number of dry match days, it was good to see it wasn't me that was cursed or if I was it has transferred seamlessly on to Oli.

After a well earned tea break for Oli and Drew it was time for final match day preparations which included marking of the pitch. I was trusted with this job and with the help of Drew we started stringing out the lines.”

Oli has been using Revolution (one of many Fleet products available for use of grass surfaces) since its launch through his Lionel 4" marker Oli had these comments.

“Revolution is superb! we have even had opposing teams and visitors comment on the brightness!

The unique finishing quality gives us a paint that wont "re-wet" meaning that once the paint has dried onto the grass leaf it can’t "ghost" during play. The lines even stand up when the pitch is irrigated before play, which is now a common practice up and down the country.”

Phil continues.
“By the time kick off came round the pitch looked stunning and Oli and Drew should be very proud of what they have achieved. I'm sure the work is appreciated by all the playing staff at the football club.”

The result didn't go Rochdale's way on the day but Fleet are sure if the surface remains at such a high standard it won't be long until the 3 points start rolling in.

Phil finishes off by saying

“I want to say a big thanks to Oli, Drew and all the staff at Rochdale AFC who made the day an absolute pleasure and everyone at Fleet Linemarkers want to wish Rochdale AFC all the best for the 2014-15 season!

Hare on the hillside - Dorset's Festival of Extraordinary Events aided by Fleet products.

Fleet Line Markers are no strangers to stencils for sports games and team logos across the country but when Inside Out Dorset approached us to lend some expert knowledge for an up and coming event we just couldn’t help but get excited.

The large scale White Hare artwork was situated on a hillside, to celebrate the Ridgeway’s Neolithic heritage, recalling ancient chalk figures of around 1000 BC and to pay homage to the English hare.

The Hare was plotted using GPS and staked out using ribbon, Fleet helped by supplying spray equipment and paint to fill the marked area resulting in a bright white Hare that could be seen for miles.

In this video artist Sarah Butterworth, who dreamed up the idea of a chalk figure of a hare explains the significance of this mystical animal and how she and her team managed to paint it on the grassy slope.

The Hare was commissioned by Activate for Inside Out Dorset, supported by the Heritage Lottery Fund through the South Dorset Ridgeway Landscape Partnership, West Dorset District Council, Dorset County Council and Arts Council England.

Business Owner sees benefit of BeamRider

Fleet’s leading range of line marking machines are used by groundsmen worldwide to mark sports pitches, playgrounds, car parks and roads.

However a recent enquiry from a Norwich based Timber Merchants, Thomson Sawmills, has highlighted how Fleet’s marking machines can also provide cost saving benefits to a diverse range of businesses.

Thomson Sawmills has recruited a line marking contractor for the past 10 years, in order to mark eight loading bays and an access area using thermoset paint – which is easily diminished by the use of road salt in adverse weather conditions.

Recruiting a line marking contractor on an annual basis is fast becoming a costly process for business owner, Brian Thomson – who decided to contact Fleet in order to invest in the company’s very own line marking machine.

Fleet’s Area Sales Manager Oliver Hall visited the Timber Company on 11th August to demonstrate Fleet’s newly launched Ki Spray Machine, the Kombi and the only laser guided line marking machine worldwide, BeamRider.

After demonstrating the BeamRider and highlighting a number of its key features including its ability to mark perfect laser straight lines in a fraction of the time, Brian chose to invest in the machine without viewing any other product.

Brian comments, “Thomson Sawmills requires regular access to a line marking machine to ensure all business processes remain organized and streamlined.
This has been a very costly process to date as we have had to use a line marking contractor, which we can only afford once per year.

“Investing in Fleet’s BeamRider will not only save us significant costs, but will also allow for regular remarking achieved with little time or effort thanks to the superior quality of the machine.”

The BeamRider has now been dispatched to Thomson Sawmills ready for rejuvenation of all lines prior to the start of the winter season.

The Ki Spray Machine impresses Sweden’s Greenkeepers

Last week, exclusive Fleet distributor for Sweden, Jordelit, celebrated their 35th Anniversary.

As part of the celebrations, over 100 Greenkeepers visited Jordelit’s head office in Mölndal and enjoyed two days of presentations and product demonstrations inter mingled with a round of golf at the spectacular Hills Golf and Sports Club.

European Sales Manager Iain Courage and Assistant Chris Buckley were on hand to help the Jordelit sales team, demonstrating Fleet’s latest line marking innovations, the Ki Spray Machine and NEET paint in yellow, red and blue.

Both the Ki Spray Machine and NEET paint attracted a vast amount of interest from the Greenkeepers, who were extremely impressed with the advanced line definition produced by the machine.

Iain and Chris also demonstrated the benefit of the Ki for marking out hazard lines on Golf courses

Iain confirms, “All attendees at the Joredlit anniversary celebrations were excited by the Ki’s ability to produce superior lines at affordable costs.

“What’s more, in demonstrating the machine’s capabilities on the golf course, we were also able to highlight the productivity and durability of the NEET bag system when compared to the use of aerosols – even when changing colours, which is simply a case of disconnecting one bag of colour and attaching the next..it really does take seconds!”

Fleet Line Markers Limited Set to Showcase Line Marking Innovations at SALTEX

Fleet Line Markers Limited is delighted to announce it will be exhibiting at the IOG’s annual SALTEX exhibition on 2nd – 4th September 2014, in order to showcase its latest line marking innovations to key stakeholders within the industry.

As the UK’s largest national event for grounds care, sports, amenities and estates, Fleet Line Markers has exhibited at SALTEX since the early 60’s.

For the 2014 exhibition, the line-marking specialist will be demonstrating a number of new products that have been created for the benefit of groundsmen worldwide - including its new Ki Spray Machine and NEET paint, together with the reformed Kombi 4.

Launched in May this year, the Ki Spray Machine provides groundsmen with a revolutionary line marking machine that offers advanced line definition for all surfaces, with almost zero overspray.

This is achieved with use of Fleet’s NEET paint, attached to the Ki in ready to use bags for immediate marking. This system benefits groundsmen in providing the same durability of paint, but at a significant reduction in marking time and costs.

The newly reformed Kombi 4 can also be used with the NEET bag system or in conjunction with Fleet’s long established dilutable paints, appealing to groundsmen at all levels.

Fleet’s International Sales Manager, Iain Courage comments, “This year Fleet will be showcasing a number of its new innovative products that have been specifically designed with our customers in mind. Both the new Ki Spray Machine and reformed Kombi 4 provide a cost effective solution for advanced line definition, especially when used with Fleet’s ready to use paints.”

SALTEX attendees will also be introduced to Fleet’s range of accessories including the new Nozzle Tip Cleaner and Fleet Wipes.

Manufactured to use with all Fleet nozzle tips, the ultrasonic Nozzle Tip Cleaner works through the cavitation effect caused by high frequency ultrasonic wave vibrations in the fluid – providing an effective solution for the removal of paint, dirt and grime which would normally require tedious manual cleaning by hand.

Iain continues, “Fleet’s new Nozzle Tip Cleaner has been manufactured to ensure groundsmen achieve top results with our line marking machines through cleaning and maintenance. It can be used with a wide variety of Fleet machine parts including nozzles, filters, pipework and couplings, returning them to an ‘almost new’ condition without any damage.”

The Fleet Wipes have also been created to maintain Fleet line marking machines, offering an easy solution for the removal of high quantities of paint with minimal effort or output.

To find out more about Fleet’s new line marking innovations please visit the team at SALTEX on stand E55, where attendees will have the opportunity to participate in product demonstrations and competitions throughout the event.
