Fleet Line Markers Limited benefits line marking industry with ready to use paints

31st July 2014: Industry leading manufacturer of line marking paints and equipment, Fleet Line Markers Limited, is excited to announce the launch of its ready to use Synthetic Turf Coating (STC) and Permanent Marking Fluid (PMF) line marking paints.

Currently available to customers as concentrated products, STC and PMF are highly durable line marking paints that are both rain resistant and hardwearing.

In reformulating both paints to ready to use products, Fleet’s Chemists have provided an easy to use solution for the marking of all hard and synthetic surfaces, for groundsmen at varying capabilities.

The new products will be available to purchase from Fleet in September and will be packaged in drums or ready to use bags that can be attached to Fleet’s revolutionary line marking machine - the Ki Spray Machine – which was launched at the beginning of May this year.

Fleet’s Managing Director, Iain McGuffie comments, “Reformulating both STC and PMF line marking paints in ready to use versions enhances the Ki as a highly versatile line marking machine that offers advanced line definition for all surfaces with almost zero overspray – this means the machine provides opportunity for line marking indoors without the use of masking.”

Customers who choose to use either STC or PMF in conjunction with the Ki will experience the same durability of the paint but at a significant reduction in marking time and costs.

Both STC and PMF ready to use line marking paints will also be available in drums for use with alternative spray marking machines to suit all customer requirements, benefitting groundsmen on a global scale.

Iain finishes, “Fleet Line Markers aims to consistently develop innovative line marking products for the benefit of all of our customers across the UK and overseas. Our latest innovation of ready to use line marking paint for all surfaces is an excellent example of this, as we hope to provide groundsmen with an effective solution for increased marking productivity.”

Over the past few weeks Fleet Line Markers has provided its line marking expertise to local businesses including Morgan Motor Company and Gloucester Rugby Club.

On Sunday 13th July Morgan Motor Company celebrated 100 years of manufacturing at its Malvern based factory, displaying over 400 Morgans past and present to an impressive number of keen customers and Morgan fanatics.

In preparation for the event, Fleet’s European Sales Manager Iain Courage and assistant Chris Buckley marked out 300 car parking spaces in patriotic colours, red, white and blue – with an excellent marking transition between each coloured line.

Morgan were delighted with the results, as Marketing and Events Co-coordinator Jayne Jones confirms, “Thank you so much to Iain and Chris for marking up our field so perfectly, all of our Morgans were lined up like soldiers thanks to you - the in field parking has never looked so good!”

Fleet Line Markers expands production team to fulfill Ki order requests

3 weeks ago Fleet Line Markers Ltd launched its latest revolutionary line marking products, the Ki spray machine and DROO paint, at a successful launch event held at Malvern RFC.

Since launch date the sales team have received an increasing number of orders and enquiries for the innovative machine from customers across the UK and Overseas, exceeding expected demand.

To fulfill all order requests within the agreed timeframe, Fleet Line Markers has employed a small number of production staff to assist its expert team of engineers in assembling the machines, at Fleet’s Malvern based factory.

Fleet Line Markers’ Production Manager Danny Bennett, comments “The Ki launch was a great success, which is evident by the number of orders and enquiries received to date.

“Although we have completed the initial order batches, the machine is still in increasing demand and as a result we have streamlined the development process, and recruited production assistants to ensure the machines can be assembled efficiently and in accordance with quality standards – fulfilling order requests as soon as possible.”

The Ki Spray Machine was created in house by Fleet’s expert team of electronic and software engineers – boasting 63 bespoke moulds, 27 different machined components and never seen before features including fully retractable handlebars and an ‘NCS’ Nozzle Cleaning System.

Unlike other marking machines, the Ki is equipped with a connected bag of Fleet’s own DROO paint for immediate marking. The machine also has a self sealing system, which allows users to leave the paint bag connected between marking sessions without the risk of blockages, saving time and costs.

Danny finishes, “The Ki Spray Machine has the potential to revolutionise the line marking industry in providing groundsmen with a precision line marking machine at affordable costs, thanks to its partnership with DROO paint.

“Consequently I am in no doubt that order levels will continue to rise – and here at Fleet we will continue to work with great efficiency to supply the demand.”

KI launch is a complete success.

Close to 100 people turned up on Thursday 08th May at Malvern RFC for the official launch of Fleet’s latest innovations, the Ki Spray Machine and the DROO paint.

The day started off with Iain McGuffie, Fleet’s Managing Director, welcoming everyone to the event. Iain also welcomed special guests Liam Killeen and Kevin Duffill. Liam is a 3 times Olympian and a Commonwealth Games Medal winner and Kevin is 1 of the 8 new National Pitch Advisors appointed by the IOG.

Iain Courage, Fleet’s European Sales Manager, then did a presentation on the history of Fleet (Line Markers) Ltd from 1953 to the present day. This was followed by Liam Killeen unveiling 1 of 6 special Golden Ki’s to be produced. This was later to be given away to a lucky prize winner.

After the unveiling, Carl Haffield, Fleet’s Graphic Designer, showed the Ki transforming from transport mode to ready to use mode.  Everyone then filed outside onto the Rugby Club’s training area for hands on experience of the Ki and DROO. Lunch followed in the form of a pig roast, refreshments and Fleet’s famous carrot cake.

Lunch was followed by a short walk to Fleet’s premises for a factory, workshop and laboratory tour along with further demonstrations to show the Ki spraying PMF onto a hard surface. The line achieved was pristine!
Back to the Club afterwards for more demonstrations of the KI along with the Kombi and BeamRider. This was followed by a competition between Iain Courage and Alec Gordon, both of Fleet, to see who could do the fastest, straightest line over 100 metres using the BeamRider RX system mounted on a Kubota RTV900. The RTV900 was kindly loaned to Fleet for the launch day by John Johnson of Kubota at Thame in Oxfordshire.

Iain went first and marked a laser straight 100 metre line in 19.1 seconds. This was followed by Alec achieving 100 metres in 15.6 seconds. There is to be a steward’s enquiry, however,  as there was some dispute whether “Smart” Alec actually achieved 100 metres! If he didn’t, he may be disqualified!!

The day culminated in a competition for the guests to see who could mark the straightest “freehand” line using the new Ki and DROO. There were plenty volunteers. Just before the start it was revealed that contestants had to wear a blindfold. Great fun was had by all! The competition winner was Phil from Parallel Lines who is now the proud owner of 1 of 6 unique Golden Ki’s. When speaking to Dave Mann, owner of Parallel Lines, Dave mentioned that Phil has a dog called Ki – spooky!!
The Ki has many unique features and has 63 bespoke moulds/mouldings, 27 machined components and 5 patents pending. The Ki INNOVATIVE never before seen features such as fully retractable handlebars, stowable line forming guides and Fleet’s revolutionary “NCS” Nozzle Cleaning System.

From transportation to deployment mode in seconds, the Ki uses an ENVIRONMENTALLY FRIENDLY lithium ion battery to provide power for a full day’s marking.

The Ki and Droo paint offer a real alternative to transfer wheel machines; no paint mixing, better line definition, faster field marking times and reduced costs ON ALL SURFACES. AS little as 1 litre to mark a football pitch.

DROO is our latest paint designed especially for the KI. An extremely bright marking fluid that produces long lasting rain resistant lines.
No mixing required - just connect the bag and begin marking.

Should you wish to seethe Ki and DROO on demonstration please contact Fleet on 01684 573535.
